Not only is this treadmill extremely affordable for a commercial grade treadmill, more so with our discount pricing, but it also has a plethora of great features and high durability.

DSC_1401

The Cybex 530T treadmill is one of the easiest treadmills to use. It has a convenient “Quick Start” key that lets the user enter the manual program with a single touch. It also uses a live keyboard which allows the user to change the program or any setting without starting over, which can help the user create a dynamic workout without interruptions. The treadmill comes preloaded with a variety of great workout programs including quick start, manual, 5k run, 9 holes, heart rate control, weight loss and cardio programs which will keep the user engaged and interested. There is also a heartrate monitor built into the contact grips for further fitness tracking.

Another great feature, usually reserved for expensive higher end treadmills, is the decline/incline elevation feature. You can easily increase the intensity of your workout by using the incline, or decrease it by using the decline feature.

This treadmill also has an effective suspension system that absorbs the impact of landing and provides a stable running base for maximum efficiency. There is also an option to attach a television if you want to multi-task and watch your favorite shows while burning some calories.

Cybex has also implemented a safety system into its 530T treadmill. It is known as “Safe Sentry” and it can determine whether you are at the treadmill or not. After a certain period of inactivity (determined by the user), the belt will stop in order to keep users safe.

This is easily one of the best commercial grade treadmills that you’ll find for such a bargain price. These machines are extremely durable and will last you for life. If you wish to purchase one or look at more pictures, visit the Cybex 530T Treadmill page!

Cybex 610A Arc Trainer Review https://primofitnessusa.com/cybex-610a-arc-trainer-review/ Wed, 10 May 2023 05:23:21 +0000 https://primosites.net/dev/?p=70284 The elliptical crosstrainer is a staple in the modern gym so it is not surprising that many companies have taken their own spin on this highly popular machine. Cybex’s take on revolutionizing the elliptical comes to fruition in the form of the Cybex 610A Total Body Arc Trainer. This machine is versatile; it is easy to use for workout novices but can also deliver an intense workout to any fitness fanatic.

Overview:

The 610A Arc Trainer is the follow-up to the 600A Arc Trainer which won the Nova7 Best Product Award. In addition to maintaining all of the 600A’s features, the 610A improves upon its predecessor in every way and once again won the Nova7 Best Product Award for a second year in a row.

Cybex is one of the leaders in fitness so it is not surprising that this commercial grade unit delivers the well known durability that they’re known for. The Arc Trainer was designed to combine elements of an elliptical cross-trainer, a climber and a skier to offer a fully engaging workout. Fortunately, this 610A arc trainer was also designed to be a low impact workout machine. It emphasizes high performance but also minimizes stress on the joints.

Technology:

The Cybex 610A Arc Trainer comes with the patented Same Side Forward (SSF) motion that helps to coordinate both the upper and lower body movements in order to ensure that the exerciser has correct posture regardless of the incline the machine is set at. The motion created by the SSF also allows the user to shift focus on either their upper or lower body. Of course, they can also choose to work out both their arms and legs equally for a balanced routine.

In regards to the upper body, the 610A is designed to keep the wrists in a low stress position while allowing the arm to execute a complete and natural full range of motion, especially for the shoulder. The handles may also look odd but they’re actually designed that way for a great reason. They’re contoured to offer several user grip positions to allow for a comfortable workout. There are also contact heart rate grips integrated into the arms to help the user track their progress during their workout.

Features:

This arc trainer’s resistance ranges from 0 to 900 watts to accommodate a wide variety of users from different fitness levels. Beginners can use it to warm up and dedicated athletes can use it for an extremely high intensity workout.

The footplates offer a bilateral reciprocal movement which creates a natural and relaxed motion that does not strain the joints. The 610A is also biomechanically designed to lower the chance of injuries by not placing high loads on the muscle.

The 610A arc trainer also has an adjustable incline which helps create variety in training. On lower incline settings, the arc trainer delivers modest hip and knee motions. Higher inclines offer an increase in hip and knee motion.

Conclusion:

While it may not be the newest Cybex Arc Trainer model out on the market today, the 610A still delivers all the essentials for a bargain price. This model is now on sale on our website. Visit our new arrivals page for more information!

StairMaster 7000PT Stepmill Review https://primofitnessusa.com/stairmaster-7000pt-stepmill-review/ Wed, 10 May 2023 01:11:21 +0000 https://primosites.net/dev/?p=70264 Getting and staying in shape can be a difficult climb. Hence the irony of the fact that climbing a stepmill may be one of the best and most effective ways toward fitness. We’ve already covered the benefits of a stepmill so now we’re reviewing one of our favorite models and probably the most popular commercial stepmill in the game right now, the StairMaster 7000PT.

The StairMaster 7000PT is primarily used for intense cardiovascular and lower body workouts. Using this stepmill is almost identical to walking or running up a flight of real stairs. There are three eight inch tall steps that revolve for an endless cycle of enjoyable stair climbing. It is also important to note that you should be at least over 100 pounds if you’re planning to use and purchase this machine. The steps may not move if you’re too light. Another note is that you should at least have a ten feet tall ceiling. If you’re a taller individual you will definitely need more space.

The new 7000PT also comes with a variety of features that weren’t available on the original stepmill. The main one being the different resistance levels and adjustable workout programs. It can go from 24 to 162 steps per minute for a wide range of fitness levels. There is also a backlit LED display which allows you to cycle through these different workouts. There is also a nationally recognized fitness test and a CPA Fire Fit test so you can gauge your fitness levels and improvement. The six included programs are quick start, manual, fat burner, calorie burner, speed intervals, heart rate zone trainer.

Other side features are heart rate monitoring, a reading rack, a water bottle holder and an accessory tray.

This is easily one of our favorite stepmills because it is also quite affordable. A commercial grade StairMaster 7000PT, which is extremely durable and will last an individual for a lifetime, will run you under two thousand dollars. The combination of an efficient design, different workout options and a variety of useful bells and whistles make this unit a must buy for stepmill enthusiasts.

Besides stepmills, we also have steppers, treadmills, elliptical crosstrainers, exercise bikes and a ton of strength equipment. Take a look at our commercial used fitness equipment today!

Best Panatta Sport Gym Equipment Everyone’s Talking About https://primofitnessusa.com/best-panatta-sport-gym-equipment-everyones-talking-about/ Thu, 04 May 2023 04:12:36 +0000 https://primosites.net/dev/?p=70253 Let’s talk about Panatta Sport, Italy’s longest-living company in the Fitness industry. They were founded over 50 years ago by Rudy Panatta, and the company’s mission is to create high quality, Made in Italy, workout equipment.

The reason why Panatta has become a significant brand in the industry is that they take total control of the development cycle and production process of each and every one of their machines. All of the production phases are carried out within the company.

Panatta is one of the few fitness brands that you can see in almost every commercial gym around the world. Here’s the best Panatta gym equipment you can put in your commercial gym or home.

Strength Training

Panatta 8 Stack Multi Gym

Panatta is known for its multi-gyms or jungle gyms. These pieces of equipment can be utilized by more than one person simultaneously, making them a must-have item in many commercial gyms looking to maximize their space. In fact, with this particular jungle gym, eight people can train simultaneously. The Panatta 8 Stack (Station) Multi Gym multi gym includes:

  • Lat Bar
  • Multi-exercise Bar
  • Triceps Pressdown Bar
  • 2 Multipurpose Handles

Panatta Fit Evo Hip Thrust

This machine targets the gluteal and femoral muscles. The Panatta Fit Evo Hip Thrust is another absolute necessity for any commercial gym. It comes complete with a tilting backrest that follows the user’s movement during exercise. This means that users of the machine can expect that their natural movement won’t be impeded, but used to build their muscle in the target areas.

Panatta Monolith Dips Press

The Panatta Monolith Dips Press targets the triceps muscles, some of the most difficult muscles to target without a machine. With this press, users can use a magnetic pin to select the load and increase it as they build muscles in the area. While this piece only targets one area of the body, it is ideal for most commercial gyms because members will appreciate being able to train their triceps and further tone their arms.

Panatta Monolith Lateral Deltoid

This machine performs the functional abduction of the humerus. The humerus is located in the upper arm, between the shoulder and elbow and works the deltoid muscle.

This machine is a necessity for people who have a difficult time training their arms and shoulders using traditional exercise. The deltoid muscle is one of the hardest to build on your own. The Monolith Lateral Deltoid features a magnetic pin to select and comes with an illustrative chart with a QR code linked to a technical video.

Panatta FIt Evo Incline Chest Press Bench

This workout machine is great for targeting the pectoral muscles. In fact, it’s one that every commercial gym should have, since targeting these muscles is often done on the floor by doing push-ups.

By allowing your members to sit in an upright position, it is much more comfortable to target this area of the chest. The Panatta Fit Evo Incline Chest Press Bench features a height-adjustable seat so that anyone can use it no matter their height and independent levers for either unilateral or bilateral exercise.

Cardio

Panatta Horizontal Recumbent Bike

This recumbent bike is built with a Pininfarina design. You may know this design since Pininfarina is the manufacturer of automobiles known for their design aesthetic and comfortable rides.

The recumbent bike offers the same luxurious feel. The Panatta Horizontal Recumbent Bike includes advanced workout programs that keep your muscles activated, and your body continues burning calories with a low-impact, high results workout.

Panatta Pininfarina Plus Elliptical

This elliptical offers the same high end feel as the recumbent bike because it too is a Pininfarina design. Ellipticals are one of the most popular machines in gyms because they provide low impact exercises that burn calories. They’re also one of the easiest and most fun to use because they function in with a gliding motion.

The Panatta Pininfarina Plus Elliptical is no exception. It has advanced workout programs to keep users going, and a high luminosity LED display that shows calories burned, heart rate, and the time of the workout.

Panatta Monolith Rowing Machine

Rowing machines are often considered both cardio and muscle building exercise machines because they get the heart rate up and also train the back muscles. The Panatta Monolith Rowing Machine uses circular movement to target the muscles, and a magnetic pin allows users to select their load. This machine comes with a height-adjustable eat so that it can comfort to each user’s body and independent levers for unilateral or bilateral exercise.

Panatta Fenix Climber

This stepmill from Panatta features an LED plus console that shows the user valuable information about their workout, like their heart rate, calories burned, and time spent on the machine. Climbers and steppers are a must for every gym because they are fun and easy to use.

The wide steps of the Panatta Fenix Climber allow every kind of user to take advantage of this machine and perform exercises with complete stability. Many climbers only work the legs and glutes. However, the Panatta Fenix Climber is built to provide a complete workout. With the constant availability of three steps, users can make their workout their own and add more intense moves to increase cardiovascular activity.

Why Your Gym Needs Panatta

High Quality

When it comes to choosing equipment for your commercial or home gym, you need equipment that is built to last. You have to consider just how much use your equipment will see.

If you work out every day, your equipment needs to be able to stand up to the years. This is especially true if you have multiple people using the same pieces of equipment in your commercial gym. Panatta gym products are built to last with high-quality materials.

Equipment for Every Gym

Stairmaster Workouts You Should Try Today https://primofitnessusa.com/stairmaster-workouts-you-should-try-today/ Wed, 03 May 2023 04:49:50 +0000 https://primosites.net/dev/?p=70225 The Stairmaster is an exercise apparatus that usually comes in the form of a stepmill, but it also comes in the forms of a console stepper or bike. Consider getting one or more of these used exercise machines for sale that you can use to try out the exercises below.

Benefits of a Stairmaster

Before you start these exercises, you have to know about the benefits they bring you. A Stairmaster promotes cardio exercise, weight loss, and it helps you breathe better.

Of course, like everything, there’s a downside. Stairmaster exercises only focus on the lower body, ignoring the upper body. The exercises may also hurt your legs after a period, so take care during your exercise routine.

Walking Backward

Walking forward is okay for strengthening hamstrings and glutes, but if it’s the only thing you do, it gets boring after a while. Walking backward doesn’t just change things up; it focuses on exercises different muscles.

Skipping Steps

Adjust the Stairmaster at a slow speed, then step on every other step. Once you get more comfortable with this routine, set it at a faster speed for more of a challenge.

Leg Lifts

Balance yourself by putting your hands on the side rails. Then, step up with one leg before lifting up the one behind you as you step up. Continue to alternate your steps while keeping your back straight.

Crossover Steps

While moving sideways, cross one leg over the other while stepping up to the next stair.

Single Steps

This exercise is like walking up a flight of stairs, except they’re moving stairs, of course. The purpose of this workout is to exercise your quads.

Sprinting

When you hear the word “sprinting,” you usually think of someone making a quick run to somewhere. Well, when the term is used as related to Stairmasters, it’s basically a fast-paced walk. As you sprint, give at least 75 percent of effort; in other words, you should have a fast heart rate and have a hard time speaking while sprinting.

Combine the Above Steps into One Workout

Though you have the choice to do the above exercises individually, why not make it more interesting by putting them together to create one workout routine? Follow the one below or mix it up to add your own touch to it.

Stairmaster HIIT (High-Intendsity Interval Training) Workout 35 Minutes

  • Switch to walking backwards for four minutes (one-minute break afterward)
  • Move to skipping steps for four minutes (one-minute break afterward)
  • Do leg lifts for four minutes (one-minute break afterward)
  • Sprint for four minutes (one-minute break afterward)
  • End with five minutes of crossover steps

Difference between Life Fitness Consoles https://primofitnessusa.com/difference-life-fitness-consoles/ Tue, 18 Apr 2023 04:32:32 +0000 https://primosites.net/dev/?p=69793 If you’ve been shopping around for some Life Fitness cardio products, you’ve probably run across a few unfamiliar terms in regard to the console. Life Fitness is one of the leaders in fitness and they’ve done so by constantly advancing and pushing the technological limits of fitness equipment. This means that they’ve consistently updated their consoles. The four main consoles are the Achieve, Inspire, Engage and Discovery. All of these consoles are still commonly found when shopping for used Life Fitness cardio equipment so it is important to be familiar with all of them. We will detail each console and all of their features.

Achieve Console

The Life Fitness Achieve consoles are the oldest among the consoles, but that doesn’t make it antiqued or outdated by any means. The console boasts a minimalistic LED screen and readouts. The Achieve has built in workout programs, depending on the cardio machine it is attached to, a wireless heart rate chest strap and heart rate related workouts.

Along with the programs, the console contains the following electronic readouts:

  • Time
  • Elapsed Time
  • Time Remaining
  • Time in Zone
  • Time of Day
  • Speed (mph/km/h)
  • Distance
  • Distance Climbed
  • Distance Remaining
  • Pace
  • Heart Rate
  • Target Heart Rate
  • Calories
  • Calories per Hour
  • Watts
  • METs
  • Display Type: 7″ Touch Screen display with 3 LED workout feedback windows
  • Workout Feedback Display: 7 LED windows

If you’re not too dead set on having a touchscreen or an array of connectivity options, the Achieve console is more than adequate for your everyday fitness goals.

Inspire Console

The successor to the Achieve console, the Inspire, is a huge leap in terms of entertainment and connectivity options. It has a full color touchscreen display that you can use to monitor and set up your workouts. Along with the touchscreen, the Inspire console also comes with a multitude of buttons used to control incline (if on an applicable machine), a Quickstart button and walk/jog/run preset buttons. There is even an Options Panel which allows you to plug in headphones, an iPod or even a USB to save and store your workout data. Of course, there is also a display to allow you to see fitness data such as distance, heart rate and calories burned.

Generally, most Achieve consoles only have 6 or so built in programs but the Inspire console increases this dramatically to 36 workout programs. There are a variety of different training options such as heart rate, 5k sports training, speed training, calories goal and many others depending on your fitness goals.

Entertainment wise, you can also attach a TV to any unit with an Inspire console. It also has iPod connectivity if you’d prefer to listen to music over watching television.

Engage Console

The Engage console is the latest top of the line console that Life Fitness offers. From the aesthetics alone, you can tell that this is a modern technologically advanced fitness console. Like its predecessor, it also has a touchscreen but this one is over twice the size of the Inspire. The Inspire’s touchscreen measures at 7” while the Enage is 15”.

Both the Inspire and Engage consoles come with 36 workout programs along with the convenient Quick Start option. For more detailed and accurate data, the Engage consoles also ask you for personal details (such as weight, age and gender) for more accurate fitness testing. While the Inspire had the option of connecting a TV to it, the Engage console actually has the TV built in. Television access is controlled through the touchscreen display and you can connect your cable television directly to the console. It also has an FM radio built in. Fortunately, you can still see your workout data on the screen below the television. The television also has iPod connectivity.

These are the main differences between the three most commonly found Life Fitness consoles on the market today. Remember that many of the cardio machines can accommodate more than one different type of console. We hope this helps you decide which fitness equipment is best for you!

What is an AMT? https://primofitnessusa.com/what-is-an-amt/ Tue, 18 Apr 2023 03:48:38 +0000 https://primosites.net/dev/?p=69766
Adaptive Motion Trainer (AMT)

Ellipticals have been a staple in gyms since they came out in the 1990’s, but recently a more advanced cardio machine similar to an elliptical has taken over. Precor’s Adaptive Motion Trainer (AMT) is everything an elliptical is and more.

What Does it do?

The AMT is a self-generating machine that turns on only when in use. The AMT adapts to your body motion whether you are walking or running. The platforms follow your feet in whatever direction you want them to go. You’re not on any particular track, so you’re not bound on a pre-determined ellipsis as you would be on a traditional elliptical machine; you can use it in a stair-master type way if you like, and you can even kick your feet up behind you to really work your hams and glutes. It’s totally responsive! The AMT blends the benefits of a treadmill with the low impact motion of an elliptical. This is why the AMT is considered to be a combination of a treadmill, stepper, and elliptical machine.

A Total Body Workout

The AMT’s versatility of motion and resistance make it a great option for all types of exercises. The AMT has several pre-programmed workouts that can be selected for a full-body resistance training circuit. You can also select Quick Start button and use the manual adjustments to increase the stride length and resistance until it fits your individual abilities. During your cardio work you can utilize the backward motion of your foot pedals to switch up the muscle groups being used. You can also incorporate pushing and pulling movements by using your arms.

The AMT is more than just a cardio machine. You can set up the machine to transition from striding to resistance training moves like squats, single leg curls, and leg raises. You can even incorporate upper body strength and core training into your workouts by placing your hands on the foot pedals to do push-ups or to create a plank while staying balanced at the same time since the foot pedals will move if too much pressure from one side is applied. The AMT will pause automatically to allow time to complete your resistance moves. Your pause time can be adjusted up to 300 seconds. All of these exercises help to improve overall strength in your larger muscle groups. As you can see, the AMT is a stand-alone total body workout machine.

Difference between the Precor AMT 100i, AMT 835 and AMT 885 https://primofitnessusa.com/difference-precor-amt-100i-amt-835-amt-885/ Wed, 12 Apr 2023 05:16:09 +0000 https://primosites.net/dev/?p=69504 If you’ve ever used a Precor AMT at your gym, you’ll know why they’re so popular. It’s not quite an elliptical, because it’s much more than that. For many, the elliptical is an effective exercise machine for low impact cardio, but it can get tedious doing the same repetitive motion for the entire duration of a workout. If you’re looking to invest and purchase your own AMT, you’ll see that there are generally three main models out on the market, the Precor AMT 100i, Precor AMT 835 and Precor AMT 885. While on a superficial level they may look extremely similar, there are subtle differences that set these machines apart. We’ll go through every aspect step by step so you can decide which model is right for you.

What is an AMT?

AMT stands for Adaptive Motion Trainer which, coincidentally, is what the Precor AMTs do. Contrary to any other elliptical on the market, there is no delay or manual adjustment needed to adjust your stride. The machine adapts to your stride both in speed and motion on-the-fly which allows you to perform unique workout without unnecessary breaks. Every model of the AMT also comes with an integrated stride dial which displays which muscles you’re working. This changes as you alter your stride length.

Another great aspect about the AMT that not every other elliptical has is the contralateral arm movement. It moves in sync with your legs to create a natural unison between your arm and leg movements, also allowing you to get a total body workout. These features are all present in every model of the AMT, so let’s move on to the differences.

Stride Length

All AMTs are created to adapt to people of all shapes and sizes. The original AMT 100i has an adaptive stride length from zero to 27 inches. The Precor AMT 835 and 885 have improved upon this with a wider range of zero to 36 inches. Unlike the 100i, the 835 and 885 also have something called a stride height. This is adjustable from 6.8 to 10 inches to allow an easier transition on and off the platform.

Dual Action

This is a fancy term for providing both an upper body and lower body workout. All models of the AMT include this but Precor has stated that they have worked with a Western Washington University biomechanics lab to further improve upon this in the later iterations of the AMT. They have optimized the AMT to work with varying fitness sizes and levels from 5% size female to the 95% male user.

Foot Pedals

On all AMT models, the foot pedals have toe caps on them to ensure optimal muscle usage. Precor not only powder-coats the machines once, but twice in order to apply a rust resistant undercoat to provide additional support to the cosmetic topcoat steel frame.

Consoles

The console type is easily the largest and most apparent difference between the Precor AMT 100i, Precor AMT 835 and Precor AMT 885 models. While these consoles can be modified to fit other models, we’ll go with the models most commonly seen on each model.

The Precor AMT 100i and 935 generally come equipped with the P30 consoles. This is a large 15 inch LED display panel with tactile dome keys, a quick start button, motion controls and even a numerical pad.

The Precor 885 on the other hand generally comes equipped with the top of the line P80 console, which is a 15 inch LCD capacitive touch screen. While all units come with accessories holders for a water bottle, reading communication devices and portable music player, only the P80 comes with an iPod/iPhone docking station.

Fitness Tracking

Each console comes with electronic readouts on a variety of workout metrics, including minimum calories burned, % of workout completed, resistance level distance strides, heart rate and much more. All AMTs come with handheld heart rate sensors located on the handlebars. The AMT 835 and AMT 885 have increased accurate heart rate monitoring from the AMT 100i.

A small quirk that should be noted is maximum workout time. With the AMT 100i it was 240 minutes then became unlimited with the AMT 835. The AMT 885 restricted maximum workout time to 120 minutes.

Dimensions

  • Precor AMT 100i: 74 x 28 x 69 inches, Total weight: 445 lbs
  • Precor AMT 835: 80 x 35 x 69 inches, Total weight: 412 lbs
  • Precor AMT 885: 80 x 35 x 73 inches, Total weight: 422 lbs

We hope that we’ve cleared up some confusion between these great AMTs. You can’t go wrong with any model; it all depends on your preference and budget. Of course, the earlier models are far more cost effective than the newer top of the line AMT. Whichever you choose, have peace of mind knowing that we have them all in stock!

Cardio Machines That Only Use Arms https://primofitnessusa.com/cardio-machines-arms/ Wed, 22 Mar 2023 04:06:08 +0000 https://primosites.net/dev/?p=69341 Nearly all the standard cardio machines you find in the gym (treadmills, elliptical crosstrainers, and bikes) require using your legs, but there are times when that isn’t an option. Whether you’re going through rehabilitation, wheel-chair bound or just went too hard on leg day, there are a variety of different machines that deliver a quality cardio workout while utilizing only your arms.

The name that you’ll most commonly see these machines referred to by is “upper body ergometer/exerciser” or UBE. Although they are not as mainstream as other cardio options, different fitness companies do put their own spin on this machine.

Technogym Excite UBE Upper Body Ergometer

The Technogym Excite UBE is one of the most technologically advanced upper body cardio machines. The Excite TOP as it is sometimes called provides excellent training for the upper body. It serves to not only burn calories, but also tones and strengthens the shoulder, torso and core muscles. The crank is also adjustable and it comes with a removable seat so users in wheelchairs can easily use. It also caters to all fitness levels with over 30 different difficulty levels. There is also a monitor attached that gives all relevant readouts to be able to track your progress.

SciFit Pro1 Upper Body Exerciser

The SciFit Pro1 Upper Body Exerciser is one of the more versatile upper body cardio machines because it can be used in both a seated and a standing position. The SciFit Pro1 further improves accessibility by having both a wheelchair platform and true step-through design. It is ideal for ground based training and is highly adjustable. Some of the options include an adjustable tilt head for different heights and ranges of motion. The arm cranks are also adjustable and they can be used in either direction. It has a low starting resistance so it can accommodate almost any user. The monitor also comes with built in workouts and fitness tracking information.

Matrix Krankcycle

The most compact and space efficient upper body cardio machine is the Matrix Krankcycle. It has a clean and sleek silhouette making it a perfect fit for modern looking gym. This machine was created through a collaboration between Johnny G and Matrix and was designed for a cardio workout that strengthens both the core and arms.

Both of the arms move independently from one another which allows for a great variety of movements. It can also be lowered to chest level and used as a pseudo rowing machine. Similar to the other upper body exercise machines, there is also an option to adjust the resistance level. The head of the Krankcycle can be titled in a variety of positions and the seat can be removed for wheelchair accessibility. The cranks on this machine are also on a more narrow access compared to the other machines on this list. This allows for a higher rotation per minute and a more intense workout.

These are the three primary upper body cardio exercise machines on the market. They all offer the same great benefits of a cardio workout that requires only your upper body. If you are interested in any of these machines, feel free to contact one of our sales representatives for more information.

How To Turn Your Stationary Bike Into A Fat-Burning Machine https://primofitnessusa.com/how-to-turn-your-stationary-bike-into-a-fat-burning-machine/ Tue, 07 Mar 2023 02:01:06 +0000 https://primofitnessdevelopmentsite.kinsta.cloud/?p=69202 A lot of people consider the stationary bike as one of the most boring exercise machines around. Unless you’re in a group class surrounded with pounding music and an instructor to keep you pumped up, using an indoor bike is not exactly an exciting experience. But if you’re told that the lone bike that you naturally ignore at the gym can burn fat like crazy (provided you use it right), you may change your mind about it.

According to Jennifer Tallman, indoor cycling instructor at New York Sports Clubs, stationary bikes are great for everyone, regardless of fitness level. “Workouts on the bike build your cardiovascular endurance and strength in your legs, which translates to benefits off the bike, too.”

Another great thing about the indoor bike is that it’s considered a low-impact machine. This is good news for people who want to avoid too much stress on their knees. This also makes the stationary bike a good machine for beginners or just about anyone who wants to add a little diversity to their fitness routines.

Should You Join a Group Bike Class or Not?

There are people who perform better when working out with a group and if this is your case, then a group class may be the thing for you. Roxie Jones, a certified strength coach and instructor at SoulCycle in New York City, gives a great reason for joining spin workouts.

“Spin workouts are low-impact, making them accessible to people with any injuries that can’t handle the impact of another sport like running. You can also do them indoors during colder months, making it super convenient, and spinning requires a rider to engage their core when up and out of the saddle, while also improving endurance and cardio health overall.”

Now if you don’t find group workouts appealing and would rather bike in peace, you can just go at it solo. You can use any stationary bike at your local gym or invest in your own bike so you can cycle at home. Where you bike doesn’t really matter when it comes to your capacity to burn fat.

Indoor Cycling Workouts for Maximum Fat Burning

These trainer-recommended workouts will work wonders, whether you’re looking to burn loads of calories the low-impact way or developing a steady fitness routine.

1. All-Levels Welcome

If you’re a total newbie to the stationary bike, this is the perfect workout for you. This routine is mostly aerobic but includes short and challenging intervals that burn calories.

First, you begin with an easy warm-up and then move 3-5 rounds of 6-minute work.

The intensity of your work and rest periods will be gauged according to your rate of perceived exertion (RPE) on a scale of 1 (very easy) to 10 (maximum effort). This means that you bike at a pace that works for your level of fitness.

If you’re a beginner, stick to 3 rounds of the main block work. For more advanced levels, all 5 rounds are great.

2. Cardio and Strength for Higher Levels

In this 45-minute workout, indoor and outdoor cyclists will build three elements in their performance. These are cardiovascular fitness, leg strength, and an efficient pedal stroke.

You will start with a 10-minute warm-up before you move on to the main event, where the goal is to nail 3-minute work sets. The main workout should be repeated for 2-4 rounds. A 5-minute cool down caps off this routine.

This workout is made for intermediate and advanced cyclists, as you can see on the length of the workout sets.

3. Intro to Hill and Speed Intervals

This workout, which is designed for beginner and intermediate levels, runs for 40-minutes. Your heart rate will be taken through different zones, working on three intervals of different work-to-rest ratios.

The payoff is tons of scorched calories and an enormous boost to your fitness level.

The best thing about it? This is actually easy on the joints!

4. Cycle Fartlek

Kristian Flores, CSCS, a strength and conditioning coach in New York City, says that “Fartlek training is a fun way to mix HIIT with steady-state cardio.” Fartlek training is usually associated with running, but in this case, the principle of “speed play” can be applied to stationary biking and any other activity.

Fartlek workouts are often unstructured, which is part of its big appeal. You can go as hard as you can, for as long as you can. Afterwards, you can recover until you are ready to cycle hard again. So this is really all up to your strength and determination.

This makes Fartlek applicable to all fitness levels, a great way to build endurance and power.

5. 25-Minute Intermediate Intervals

This workout is structured according to your effort level. This is best for people who already have ample experience on the bike, preferably those who have done intervals. Jess Cifelli, master instructor at CYCLEBAR, said that in this way, you’ll have a basic understanding of what different effort levels feel like for you.

The effort levels are the following:

  • Low. This requires just a light resistance, something you can do while having a conversation with the person biking next to you.
  • Medium. The resistance is cranked up a bit – you can still talk, but not as effortless as the first one.
  • High. Forget about the conversation at the moment. Stand up in the saddle to handle the work better.
  • Maximum. Definitely no more speaking and there is no assurance you can do this for more than 30 seconds!

6. Power Intervals

According to Lauren ‘Lolo’ Wilson, senior master instructor at CYCLEBAR, “High-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts like this pack a punch in a relatively short amount of time.” With this 45-minute routine, you will improve your aerobic capacity, build muscle, and of course, burn fat outrageously.

This is best done by people who exercise 3-5 days a week consistently for at least 6 weeks. For those new to HIIT, Wilson recommends to start with 10 power intervals and add 2 intervals to each workout until you reach 20 total intervals.”
